Elphie and Dad go on an Epic adventure (Elphie's books Book 1) - Hagit R. Oron, Or Oron

I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

This was a truly cute story about a little elephant named Elphie who goes on an epic adventure (well, actually just to get milk, but that can be an adventure) with his dad. Elphie isn't all too happy to just go to the store, but it seems with the prospects of hunting dragons, saving princesses and much more, the little elephant is more than willing to come with his dad.

On his way he spots all kinds of stuff that he turns into epic things like dragons, tigers, and more. Elphie had a great time, but he still has a lot to learn about safety and about staying with his dad, even if it means that the journey is a bit boring. I felt sorry for the dad for that one moment when that part happened. Luckily he was there quickly, and Elphie learned a new lesson, or actually 2.

I loved how the book turned a boring chore (I remember I wasn't always eager to do groceries back when I was a kid) into something exciting and fun. Though someone should tell Elphie that you shouldn't hold your sword like that. :D

The art was so-so. While it did look good, it felt a bit flat, it lacked shadows and depth, and that was a shame. I think if that was added it would have been even better.

The ending of the story was really cute, and I was happy for both the dad and the kid. They had a big adventure, and now they have a nice present, and something yummy to share.

I saw there will be more Elphie books, and I do hope I will be able to read them, because Elphie is a fun kid.

Would I recommend this book? Yes. It was quite fun, and I am sure it will be a fun story to tell kids.
