I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
I saw this book on Netgalley and knew I just would need to read this one, and so I clicked to request it, and well, I guess you can guess what the outcome is. :D
This book was a delight, not only for the eyes, but also for my brain. Sure, I knew all of the things already, but it was still a lot of fun to re-learn them.
The book features 8 main animals, and then at the end has some other awesome animals, but those don't get the special, awesome treatment that the first 8 get.
The first 8 are introduced in the way of a special feature of theirs. For instance the seahorse and his tail, or the fins of a turtle. After the guessing (which I loved, as that will make the book even more fun for kids), you have a part talking about that special part and what it does.
Of course the book doesn't entirely work on a tablet, but I am sure that in paper-format this book works perfectly well, the animals will be shown more easily and not in the chopped up way the tablet shows them.
The art is gorgeous, I love the colours, but also the style of the drawings, it looks a bit like someone cut and pasted several colours together and formed an animal (now I know this might not sound so nice, but I mean it in the nicest ways).
All in all, this is certainly a book I would recommend.
